After coming seemingly from nowhere in the nineties, she opened a small salon in New Orleans' ninth ward. Content to work in her small shop, very few people would have guessed the young woman was not only a sorceress, but one of not inconsiderable power. After being trained in the Verbena tradition, the voudon wanted nothing more than to return to the city where she was born and live among its people. Twenty years later, her salon, Curl Up And Dye, is still little more than a hole-in-the-wall, catering to the people of the ninth ward. Miriam considers her community to be her extended family, and cares for them like a mother.
